The Minnesota Vikings are part of the NFC North Division. The team’s home field is Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded in 1961, the first regular season game the Vikings played was against the Chicago Bears, who they defeated by a score of 37-13. By 1969 the Vikings touted a record of 12-2, the best in the NFL. The Vikings faced off against the Cleveland Browns for the NFL Championship game in 1970 and won by a score of 27-7. Consistent successes brought a high demand for Minnesota Vikings tickets.
The 1970s brought more achievements for the Vikes as their Purple People Eater defense led them to the playoffs. The Vikings enjoyed several NFC Central Division and Conference Championships in the 1970s. In 2002 the team relocated to the NFC North, putting them in direct competition with rivals old and new in the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. |
